Mixed Media is the catalyst between me creating and me evoking emotion in you ... even if its just a smile.
I have been gaining inspiration from all different directions and this piece was appropriately titled Thankful.
I was inspired by the fat blue birds on my galoshes, the little fat chickadees that feed at my grandma's feeder during the winter and "Tim's Sally Art (aka Mindy)" . How can you not be inspired by someone who loves Strawberry Shortcake?! I too love 80's toys, especially popples (remember those), Rainbow Bright (subject of my next project?) and Care Bears.
I hope you find inspiration in those around you.
This was done on Canvas paper, with Acrylics, Water Soluble Crayons, White Gel Pen, Stamps/ink and random paper (for the nest) and ribbon from my "Tiffany's" box. :)

ReplyDeleteYes...I think it's so important to go back to the (lost) dreams we had when we were younger. I am currently reading/working through Julia Cameron's Vein Of Gold and she goes into that a lot. Also...every step that we take on our creative journey is neccesary, vital and important. All of it! The "bad" writing/art/music., the hurts and pains...everything! Of course it has taken me 40 years to figure that out:) But that is part of the journey too!

And where did you get those origami papers from? I haven't seen them at Michaels! lovely!xxx

ReplyDeleteI actually did buy that paper at Michaels ... I came across it randomely as it was not with paper in the "scrap book" area. It was all alone on the back of my My store ... good luck finding some!
